Sam began kiting in 1998, and by 2004, at age 13, had won his first competition in the junior division of the Velocity Games U.S Open.
2008 was a big year for Sam as he moved to Brazil to pursue his passion. In 2009, he signed with Best Kiteboarding, after winning a wildcard entry to the REAL Triple-S Invitational. Since then he has become the 5x Canadian National Champ, 2014 AWSI Kiteboarder of the Year, took 1st place in the KTA, and has been invited to several prestigious invitational events.
In the little free time that Sam has, you can catch him on the road, travelling to some of the world’s windiest spots to train, compete, and work on media projects. Kiteboarding possibilities are endless and at this point we have only just scratched the surface of what is possible with a kite.
